Paul Hoogenhout (36) is Senior Project Engineer at Roll Group. He completed his study Maritime Technology at TU Delft and Maritime Academy in Terschelling and started working for Spliethoff and BigLift. He has been strengthening Roll Group's Engineering department since 2011 and focuses primarily on the shipping part of RollDock. Among other things, he was responsible for the transport of Shell's new Solvent DeAsphalter Factory from Qingdao to Rotterdam in his role as Project Manager, which was accomplished successfully. Within Roll Group he also acts as chairman of the Sustainability working group.
My name is Richard Verhoeff, Sales Director at ALE Heavylift and 36 years old. After studying Technical Management at TH Rijswijk, I started working at a company in hydraulic equipment for sailing yachts. Within a short time, I was internationally active in technical sales. After 5 years I switched to a global player in the field of hydraulic tools and solutions where I was responsible for Heavy Lifting related solutions. After 2 years of working in Australia, at my return to The Netherlands, I started working at my former client ALE Heavylift.
Jeroen Jacobs was raised as Naval Architect at the TU Delft and graduated with a thesis on Nuclear propulsion for shortsea shipping. Started as a researcher at Damen Shipyards. Made the change to SMIT as Sr. Engineer and worked on the development of projects and modification of the own assets. After takeover by Boskalis Jeroen executed the following large projects as Lead engineer:

Roel Verwey completed his MSc degrees in Naval Architecture (TU Delft) and Applied Computing Science (UU) and currently holds the position of Manager Engineering of BigLift Shipping. In this role he is responsible for all design and engineering activities for heavy lift transports, executed worldwide on a fleet of specialised heavy lift ships owned by BigLift Shipping. Roel coordinates a team of twelve project Engineers which provides technical support to the initial design of new heavy lift vessels as well as the preparation and execution of transportations. This includes for example the design of grillage and seafastening systems, calculation of ship motions, stability and deck strength and preparation of rigging plans and lifting simulations.
