Senja Boom

Student Sustainable Energy Technology, Technische Universiteit Delft and member, Community of Energy Top Talents

I am Senja Boom, member of the Community of Energy Top Talents (CETT). Like all students in this network I want to make a real contribution to the energy transition. My first attempt at impact was in STORM Eindhoven, we built the world's first electric touring motorcycle and travelled around the world in 80 days. A great experience and achievement. My current challenge is to top this. That's why I study Sustainable Energy Technology at TU Delft and want to specialize in power-to-fuel technology. I believe development of these technologies will allow a big step towards the future society.

Wiebrand Bouwkamp

Senior application manager AIS infrastructure, Rijkswaterstaat

I've been working in ICT for over 30 years. At Rijkswaterstaat I work at timely and safe traffic of ships, especially on the North Sea. My role in this is that of an innovator, project developer and quarter master. Improving existing systems or developing new ones so that customers are better served. Rijkwaterstaat wants to be the databroker of the North Sea: collecting data, enriching and distributing this to the user. This means for me personally to work together with stakeholders such as the Coast Guard, Port authorities and research institutions. The Rijkwaterstaat Offshore Expertise Center facilitates my projects and research.

Vincent Doedee

Sustainability Advisor, Heerema Marine Contractors

I am a passionate campaigner with an intrinsic curiosity and sensational appetite for knowledge, motivated to create and innovate.
I have always been motivated to go a little bit beyond the possible. I graduated with honours in Offshore Engineering at the TU Delft in 2013. It was during my time in Singapore, working for Damen Shipyards, that I first came in contact with "lean thinking" and how to build enduring, sustainable businesses. During my student life I was actively engaged in several student organizational boards.
Currently I am shaping the sustainability agenda of Heerema Marine Contractors. I am also a member of the executive team of Our Oceans Challenge, dedicated to a sustainable offshore industry, which has won the DuPont Sustainability Award and Offshore Energy's Public Outreach Award.
I firmly believe in a decentralized, sustainable future with a well-developed circular economy. I see clear signs and trends that will completely revolutionize modern-day societies, including renewables and energy storage, machine learning and A.I., block chain technology and more. I must say I am looking forward to the future!

Bart Gijsberts

Board member study association Dispuut Offshore Technology

My name is Bart Gijsberts, board member of the study association 'Dispuut Offshore Technologie' (DOT). After finishing my bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology, I wanted to learn more about the energy transition towards renewable energy sources. This transition is very visible on land (solar panels, windmills) but the offshore sector was still focusing mainly on oil and gas. The past few years, the transition towards renewables accelerated with a booming offshore wind industry and many developments in ocean energy technologies. I wanted to contribute to these developments and therefore I decided to start the MSc Offshore & Dredging Engineering at Delft University of Technology. As a board member of DOT, I also organise field trips, in-house days, case studies, company days, study tours and lunch lectures to prepare our master students for their future job prospects in this fascinating industry.
